Calves have zero natural immunity so it's important you collect quality Colostrum to feed to them to transfer immunity.

It's important they get 10% of their body weight of quality colostrum ideally within 12 hours. Often the best way to do this is with a Stomach tube

Calves will need to be Taught to drink on feeders.

Calves will still get sick even with the best of systems. Joint ill is one of these due to poor navel hygiene.

Scours are a big risk for calves and sometime this can involve Blood scours.

You can use a diagnostic kit to help with treatment decisions.

You'll need a Treatment protocol for scours.

Pneumonia can also be an issue.

Surplus calves need to be OK for the saleyards.

But sometimes everything fails and for the welfare of the calf Euthenasia is the correct decision.
