Create an artboard at the requested size

Draw a box at the requested stencil size and centre align it vertically and horizontally

Apply the standard Radius to the rectangle

19mm for Poly Stencils

25mm for Aluminium & Alupanel

Offset that box by minus 100mm.

This will give you a guide on where to design the stencil within to protect it from overspray when painting it.

Convert the guide line to be 100% magenta for easy viewing

Using Franklin Gothc Heavy font type out the requested text

Always us Franklin Gothic Heavy unless client specifically requests otherwise

Convert Text to outlines and centre and scale to fit within the pink guideline.

Minimum text thickness should be 8mm

Ungroup the text

Select and individually space out each row of text using the spacings below.

Using Horizontal Distribution, set the distribution spacing to the material specific distance below and align from the first letter in each line.

8mm between letters for Poly

10mm between letters for Aluminium & Alupanel

Group each line of text the centre align the text horizontally and group all the text together

Centre and resize the text to fit within pink guide box

Delete the pink guide line

Ungroup the text twice so it is just individual letters of text

Create a Dropper for the letters with a internal element

Commons ones are Q, R, O, P, A, D, B

When stencils become larger then 1200 x 900mm all letters may need Droppers

Droppers are created by

Drawing a rectangle at below widths by the height needed to extend from the top to the bottom of a single letter

Centre this box over the letters mentioned above

6mm for Poly & 8mm for Aluminium & Alupanel stencils 900 x 600mm or smaller

For stencils larger than 900 x 600mm, the dropper width needs to scale with the size; max width is 25mm

Now that the droppers are aligned we need to remove this section of the letters

This is done by

Selecting a single letter and the dropper (Ensuring the dropper is in front of the letter)

Window > Pathfinder > Minus Front

Then ungroup each edited letter

Using the Standard Sitemax Colours (SSC) Graphic Styles in Illustrator; apply the Cut Lines

All Internal Cut Lines (Test, Logos, etc) to be Cut 1

All External Cut Lines to be Cut 2

Copy your design to the proof template by:

Select All (Control + A)

Group (Control + G)

Copy (Control + C) and Paste (Control + V) on Proof Template

Proceed with the procedure of Collating a Proof
