Using the "Sitemax - Artwork" Teams Chat, check with Production what width the material they will be printing the banner on
In this case, they will be using 3.2m wide select mesh, however, we are only able to print at 3.1m wide on this mesh.
Open the proof in Illustrator
Create a artboard at 10% of the requested banner size
Example:
This banner is 800 x 730cm divide each dimension by 10.
The artboard will need to be 80 x 73cm
Copy the design from the proof to the new artboard
Align to the top left and scale the size on the proof
PERFORM ANY BANNER FINISH-SPECIFIC ADJUSTMENTS
Keda Edged Vinyl - Minus 15mm in length and height
Rope Edged Mesh and Vinyl banners - Plus 100mm to the length and height
Eyeletted Vinyl Banners - Add pink eyelet marks
Set Rulers to be every 3.1m across the length of the banner
Place the first ruler on the left edge of the artboard
Then, Using Horizontal Distribution, set the distribution spacing to be the print width advised by production (3.1 in this case) and align from the first ruler.
If it is better for the design or orientation of the banner, this step can be done to the height of the banner.
Check to see if there is a better place on the banner to split so less text and images are cut through.
If the rulers are aligned to this position, ensure you don't exceed the print width advised by production.
Doing this will aid in creating a cleaner join.
Draw rectangles from one ruler to the next at the height of the artboard.
Then delete the rulers.
Using the rectangles drawn in step 8, create a clipping mask of what is behind them
Using the action, open the Crops and Cuts Illustrator file and copy the required pink banner end. Then paste it on the artboard with the three clipping masks
Fit the artboard to the first clipping mask (Panel 1)
Align the pink banner end horizontally to the top edge of the artboard.
The resize to match the width of the artboard.
Type the code into the pink banner end, replacing the place holder code "C00000_0".
Update the "Panel X" to be the require panel number (Panel 1)
Duplicate the pink banner end, rotate 180 degrees and align to the bottom edge of the artboard
Select both pink banner ends, and on the right-hand edge, add the required width for the weld join.
