<p><strong>Securing the Keys</strong></p><ul><li><p>Attach the commercial vehicle's keys to the lockout device.</p></li><li><p>Lock the lockout device to the lockout station or vehicle steering wheel.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Remove the lockout device key and hang on the designated key hook.</p></li></ul><blockquote><p>The lockout device must be secured in a way that it cannot be removed from the lockout station without unlocking the lockout device.</p></blockquote><p></p>

Securing the Keys

  • Attach the commercial vehicle's keys to the lockout device.

  • Lock the lockout device to the lockout station or vehicle steering wheel. 

  • Remove the lockout device key and hang on the designated key hook.

The lockout device must be secured in a way that it cannot be removed from the lockout station without unlocking the lockout device.

<p><strong>Removing the Lockout Device and Returning the Keys</strong></p><ul><li><p>Remove the lockout device from the lockout station.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Remove the commercial vehicle's keys from the lockout device and hand them to the driver.</p></li></ul><blockquote><p>Only remove the keys from the lockout device once the job has been fully completed, all personnel is clear of the commercial vehicle, and all jacks and chocks removed.</p></blockquote><p></p>
