Drench and FEC
1
Step 1 of 7It's important we make sure our drenches are working. AND we have a good plan around parasite control.
2
Step 2 of 7
It's important we check our drenches are working at the beginning of the season. To do this: FEC ( egg count ) prior to drenching Repeat 14 days post drenching
3
Step 3 of 7Limit the amount of drench we use by doing FEC every week after three weeks post drench to determine when they actually need drenched.
4
Step 4 of 7
Drench to the heaviest weight in the mob.
5
Step 5 of 7Resistance develops more easily to pour ons, followed by injectables with orals the least susceptible.
6
Step 6 of 7So pour ons can be used on calves BUT NOT CONTAINING ABERMECTINS.
7
Step 7 of 7
The rule around not using Trifecta on calves under 140kg is real. YOU WILL KILL CALVES IF YOU BREAK IT.
