Step 5 of 6

Submit an Absence Awaiting Reason (AAR) for an employee

The AAR can be used by People Managers, in the instance that an employee calls in sick or takes an unplanned absence, as an absence placeholder against the employee’s time off record.

Entering an AAR on behalf on your employee will trigger up to 3 reminder notifications to the employee, one at the time the request is entered, one after 7 days and finally one after 14 days. If after 14 days the employee has not updated the AAR with the correct information and submitted or made specific alternate arrangements with yourself and the payroll team, sick leave without pay will be applied.

Complete the following steps to submit an AAR for an employee.

  1. From the home page under Quick Actions click the Manage My Team tile.

  2. Select the employee, click Actions, then Manage Leave of Absence.
