


Before you start:
Ensure you are wearing the required PPE: Safety boots and High visibility clothing
Inspect equipment has a valid and visible electrical test and tag
Check for damaged hoses
Maintain a clear work area to minimise trip hazards

Set-up Barrel Washer
Set up barrel washer under barrel in the bung hole, and open water valve on washer
Place the plastic barrel washer chock under the barrel washer wheels to lift

Turn on Hot Water & Pump
Turn hot water valve to OPEN
Turn pump to MANUAL if monitoring
Turn pump to AUTO if you need automatic switch off
Start barrel washing
Turn on barrel washer
Check water is running and rotating within the barrel

If resousing or refilling barrel after washing:
Roll the barrel away from your body so the bung is at the top for wine filling and 10 degrees south for sousing
Make sure barrel is balanced on wheel, centred on rake and evenly distributed on barrel rack wheels
If barrel adjustment is needed:
Ensure within your capacity to lift or seek help from a second person
Shift barrel either left or right to balance and centre on rack
Caution: empty barrels weigh approximately 40kg and task is an awkward lift.
