Check water trough when getting cows out of paddock

If there’s heaps of water around trough report it AND go to trough

Check that the float (orange ball) is still attached to valve.
Look down to the valve where water goes into trough. Put your hand down to valve and make sure the valve (water direction) is pointing DOWN to the bottom of trough
If the water isn’t flowing downwards and is flowing either left or right you’ll need to turn the valve so it’s pointing downwards
If it’s still leaking pull up on the float and see if this stops the flow of water - you should be able to hear it flowing
If you lifting the float up stops the flow of water it means that the rope between float valve and float is too long - you need to shorten it
Either do this by untying the existing rope and tightening it up. Or cut off the existing one and put a new rope on. Make sure it’s tight and we’ll tied off.
