General Notes

  • Read through the fitting instructions before installation of the accessory. Install the accessory following the fitting instructions. Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle or the accessory.

  • Ensure all recyclable discarded vehicle accessory components and packaging are recycled following local recycling regulations.

  • It is always recommended that this accessory is fitted by a qualified Kia Technician.

  • Safely store and protect any removed vehicle components.

  • Ensure all bare metal surfaces are protected using automotive bare metal primer and touch-up paint, or suitable automotive rust inhibitor.

  • Remove all metal swarf and dust from all vehicle surfaces if surface is used for accessory installation.

Safety Notes

  • Check that all work practices comply with safety standards.

  • Please wear appropriate clothing and use safety equipment.

Step 1

IMPORTANT

Always refer to the vehicle’s Workshop Manual when removing vehicle components

  • Remove the seven hex bolts (A & B) securing the under-body plate (C).

  • Retain the five hex bolts (A) discard two hex bolts (B)

  • Remove and discard the under-body plate (C).

Tools Used

  • Wrench

  • 12mm Socket

Step 2

  • Disengage the exhaust hanger bushes (A) on both sides of the exhaust as indicated

Step 3

  • Place the Threaded Plates with Wire (11) on top of the chassis (LH & RH) as shown in the image.

Note: The LH and RH are not positioned symetrically.

Note: The wire will be used to hold the Threaded Plate with Wire (11) in position when installing the Rear Plate (3).

  • Feed the Mounting Plate (10) through the slot in the middle chassis body as shown

IMPORTANT

Two people are required to complete this step.

  • Secure the Rear Plate (3) to the chassis using two M8x70mm Hex Bolts (8), two M8 Flat Washers (5) and two Threaded Plates with Wire (11) .

  • Ensure the M8x70mm Hex Bolts (8) pass through the holes in the chassis as shown in the section view.

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

Step 6

IMPORTANT

Two people are required to complete this step.

  • Place the Middle Plate (2) over the Rear Plate (3) as shown. Align the Rear Plate (3) hole positions to the Middle Plate (2) hole positions and secure both plates to chassis using two M10x30 Hex Bolts (6), two M10 Flat Washers (7) and a Mounting Plate (10).

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

Note: Ensure the Middle Plate (2) sits over the Rear Plate (3) as shown.

Step 7

IMPORTANT

Two people are required to complete this step.

  • Secure the Middle Plate (2) to the chassis using two M8x30 Hex Bolts (4) and two M8 Flat Washers (5).

  • Fit the M8x70 Hex Bolt (8) through the chassis and secure with two M8 Flat Washers (5) and an M8 Nut (9) as shown in top view (A).

  • Do not tighten bolts.

Step 8

IMPORTANT

Two people are required to complete this step.

  • Align the Front Plate (1) hole positions to the Middle Plate (2) hole positions and secure both plates to chassis using two M8x30mm Hex Bolts (4) and two M8 Flat Washers (5).

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

If a bull bar is installed, skip to step 10.

If no bull bar is installed, skip to step 11.

  • Place the Front Plate (1) and align with the bull bar bash plate (B) hole locations and secure the Front Plate (1) using the five retained M8 bolts (A).

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

Tools Used

  • Torque Wrench

  • 12 and13mm Socket

  • Torque the ten indicated M8 Hex Bolts (A) (4) (8) to 20Nm.

  • Torque the M10x30 Hex Bolts (6) to 41Nm.
