Bring the vehicle in so that it is positioned as central as possible between the two support posts - this prevents the vehicle being unstable when lifted.
Leave the handbrake off and the vehicle in neutral - so that the vehicle can be rolled forwards/backwards if required.
Try to have the weight balanced and central with the two posts - this will vary depending on the vehicle.
Move the vehicle accordingly.
Please ensure that as much weight as reasonably possible is removed from the vehicle.
Go around and flick all four arms under the vehicle (two on each side).
Extend all four arms in to as far away from centre as you can comfortably position these.
Familiarise yourself with the control panel.
The green start button will operate the hoist (up and down).
You must manually select the red stop button to stop the hoist.
Hit the start button to raise the arms until they are a couple inches below the chassis (then hit stop).
Go around and fine tune the arm positions to make sure they're all going to line up and they're not going to miss supporting the vehicle.
Use the start button again to lift the vehicle to where it is held a couple of inches above the ground (then hit stop).
Check to see if the vehicle is stable and held safety.
Seek assistance from a manager if you are unsure. Together, you may perform a rock test - it is a good idea to check at this height if something doesn't feel right/if the vehicle is at risk of toppling off so that you can lower, correct, and test again, prior to going higher.
Once you're comfortable with the placement you can hit the start/green button to raise to your desired height (then hit stop).
Whilst there is an inbuilt safety feature that stops the vehicle at the maximum height, you should not be using this - instead, on every occasion, you should be manually stopping the hoist.
To lower the vehicle:
Push the lever on the outer of the arm up; and
Pull the hydraulic release handle down.
If you cannot lift the lever, hit the start button, then the stop button, to raise the vehicle slightly.
Continue holding both levers until the vehicle is on the ground OR until the top of the column is below the pen mark - then you can use the hydraulic release handle only to lower the arms.
Once the vehicle is on the ground, you can retract and fold out the arms. Then you are right to move it away.
NEVER leave the vehicle suspended whilst unattended - ie. if you have finished for the day or are walking away for lunch, please lower the vehicle for the safety of others.
