You may have poured thousands of beers.
2
Step 2 of 12
You may have never poured a beer. In this lesson, you'll learn how to hold the glass and pour a perfect presented beer in one part pour.
3
Step 3 of 12
Always start off with beer clean glassware. Your grip needs to be in the bottom third of the glass, the bar person's third as it's known.
4
Step 4 of 12
Hold your glass at a 30 degree angle. You want to get in around 25 millimetres from the base of the tap.
5
Step 5 of 12
Pour the beer down the inside of the glass. When the beer reaches halfway, straighten up your glass.
6
Step 6 of 12
Continue pouring until the head just breaks through the top of the glass.
7
Step 7 of 12
Be mindful here not to let the beer touch the tap. Turn off the tap smartly.
8
Step 8 of 12
What you're aiming for is a head that is 10 to 15 millimetres thick.
9
Step 9 of 12
Now for the presentation of your masterpiece. Again, only working in the bar person's third, present your perfectly poured beer to your customer with any branding facing them.
10
Step 10 of 12
And that's as easy as it is. Practice perfectly and your pours will never be poor again.
