How to use a Fixed (Monopoint) Wheelchair Restraint

<p>It attaches to the monopoint disc on the floor of your mobility vehicle.</p>

To attach:

  • lift the pin up

  • keep holding it up

  • slide the bottom part onto to the point that's fixed to the floor of the mobility vehicle

Once it's in, release the pin and it clicks in. Now it's all secure.

To remove

  • lift the pin

  • thumb on the bolthead

  • hold the pin up

  • slide the retractor off

To position your wheelchair correctly for travel ensure that:

  • two front retractors are positioned at a wider angle to the wheelchair frame

  • two rear retractors must always be in line with the wheelchair frame at the back

To attach the belt to the wheelchair , press the red release button, pull the belt out to extend it.

  • Hook the strap onto the adapter that can be found on the wheelchair  (it will will be labelled with a sticker).

  • If it does not have the adapter, the strongest place on the wheelchair is where two or three of the metal framework joints meet.

  • Tighten the restraint by turning the tension knob.

  • Once it is tight and all four restraints are attached your wheelchair is secured for travel.
