My first day on a dairy farm

Meet the team! Hey these guys will be with you every step of the way so get to know them. And remember there’s NO SUCH THING as a dumb question!

Step 3 of 7

You’ll be given a safety induction for the around the dairy itself. An induction to the rest of the farm will be at a later time.

Step 4 of 7

You’ll be shown around the dairy so you can become familiar with all the equipment. Make sure you read the Knowby on terminology before you come in.

Step 5 of 7

You’ll be shown how to milk a cow. And you’ll have a go at it along with other tasks in the milking process.

And you’ll be shown and take part in the clean up process.

That’ll be about it on day one and the first week will be around getting comfortable and competent in the dairy and slowly learning other tasks.
