Prepare plate for inoculation
Unpack. Then dry with a clean paper towel to remove excess moisture on outside of plates

Make sure space is clean and ready for inoculation
Always keep the plates upside down. Take the plate off the lid and sit it on paper towel. Take the lid and shake excess water off it. Don’t wipe the inside of the lid dry, just shake.

Tip the lid up the right way. Draw a line down the middle of the lid and create a left and right side. Put the appropriate cow number on each side.
Subdetect plate preparation.
Now pick up the plate and turn over. Keep the red half at the top of you hand. Inoculate the red agar and cream agar on the left side for one cow (to match lid cow number). Discard loop and get a new loop. Inoculate the red and cream agar on the right side for the cow number on the right side of the lid.
Now put the lid back on the plate and align the sides with the red quarters at the top. This way the left side number will align with where it was plated. Turn the plate back upside down immediately.

Put plates in a ziplock bag. Expell as much air as possible.

Then place plate with the lid facing down in incubator for 24 hours.
