Circuit Breaker Tripping

To isolate what is causing a circuit breaker to trip.

Go around and unplug ALL appliances that are on that circuit. Turning the switch off isn’t good enough.

Step 3 of 6

It’s a good idea to colour code or number all the plugs on the same circuit so you can easily find them.

Step 4 of 6

The circuit breaker should now be able to be put back in.

Step 5 of 6

<p>Now go around and plug each item back in one at a time. Check the circuit breaker each time after you do each plug. When it trips you have found your faulty piece of equipment.</p>
