

Once the cups have all been hung up
Turn the flood wash on using the large tap it can be stiff and does require some force, it will drain automatically. beware the path is slippery
the person remaining in the cowshed will turn it off once it’s completely drained

walk to the tap located half way down the exit race

turn the tap allowing water to flow, using the crescent located on the ground near by

Drag the hose to the neck of the narrow raceway exit
press the top green button, this will turn on the pump the refills the flood wash tank, it is on a 15 minute timer no need to remember to turn it off

near by there is also a effluent cannon turn this on using the tap at the base directed at the exit race.
Using the cannon saves on our cowshed water usage it’s important to be sustainable with our water usage we have a 42 cube per day limit

Drag the hose back up towards the cowshed, assist with hosing out cups off, this will also allow you to drag the hose out to full length.

there should be no remaining manure when you finish

hose out the platform exit - ensure it’s clean and tidy like the picture when you finish

put the hose away neatly to the side this will ensure it does no kink when the next person goes to use it and helps avoids anyone tripping on it
hang the hose it the rail so the cows don’t step on the nozzle

turn the tap back off

turn the cannon off

ensure the gates at the cowshed end are secured so cows dont escape at the next milking

assist at cups off wipe the rails using the cloth beside the AI platform cups off to half way.

give the walls a quick scrub using the broom, a little every day keeps it clean and tidy

leave the broom at cups off

give it a quick rinse using the inside hose, this is the standard you should clean to.

return the hose neatly to the side and turn the tap off.
