This is the process involved, for the removal and disposal of SA Power Networks triple bank circuit breaker.
This includes 3 individual circuit breakers, frame and cabinet removed at Yankalilla.

What is required.
F100- RORO bin lined with 2T rubble delivered to site/ / PO for rubble/ pick up and disposal of contaminated soil.
Franna Crane + Operator + rigger
Supervisor/labourer
Ute tray or trailer
IBC
Vac truck
Excavator in yard with grapple
Blue bins
Waste Tracking forms/ PCB unknown oils/ Veolia + (PO)
Transcare oil sample + (PO)

SAPN disconnect and isolate prior to works commencing.
RORO bin delivered and lined with 2T rubble F100/ +PO.

Franna crane- using 4 lifting points hook on to triple bank. Ring rope around all 4 chains/ outside unit to stabilise, weight 2T.

Lift into RORO bin lined with sand. Push all sand in to the middle to make a bund inside the bin about half way.

Will need to split the top section. Hook slings around the top section of ceramic, weight about 400kgs.

Place a drum liner around lower part of the bushing of the top section, with tape.

Undo 8-10 bolts and split with wedge and mallet.
Important: Suit up! Oil will spill out, do this slowly and be aware the top section does have some pressure.
Repeat for 3 top sections.

Place out of the way on back section of RORO to drain still inside bunded area.
Lower sections, no oil, just ceramic. Will need to break later on with sledge hammer to separate steel/ceramic, use double eye protection/ line of fire.

4 x soft slings 2-3m, 4 hook lifting points when lifting. 4 bolts holding it. 200-300 kgs
Where are the bolts and the lifting points. Point them out with the pointer.
so take IBC and decanter. 16- Need Waste Tracking form for PCB unknown oils. EPA approved ute/transport. Take to Resource Co holding yard and take a sample to Transcare/ Marleston.

Place inside RORO bin, hold on to top section and break ceramic.
Filled with sand and oil, double face shield when breaking.
Need to reciprocal saw cut copper to separate inside unit or lower and break the rest of ceramic/ separate steel for disposal.

Vac truck all the oils out of the RORO bin. Should only be around 200 litres total

Use IBC and decanter to store and transport oil.
Need Waste Tracking form for PCB unknown oils.
EPA approved ute/transport. Take to Resource Co holding yard and take a sample to Transcare/ Marleston.
17- Break all ceramic from steel. 18- Lift electrical box and dismantle steel frames and place in RORO bin.

Break all ceramic from steel.
Lift electrical box and dismantle steel frames and place in RORO bin.

Lift electrical box and dismantle steel frames and place in RORO bin.

Bring RORO to Dry Creek yard. F100
Use blue bins provided by Greg and separate steel, copper, ceramic
Need excavator with grapple or Greg’s centre bogan excavator to lift and separate.
Hand pick larger ceramic/ pending on how much ceramic- use yard RORO bin- contact yard for disposal

SAPN were happy with the process as long as the RORO doesn’t have any leaks and if left on site overnight, it needed a tarp over it.
Don't use forticon underneath, as the ceramic will just cut it up.
If monitored when lifting: Spread some dirt/ rubble around the remaining residual oil before lifting as this won’t be an issue.

Finishing the Job
Remaineder of the soil/ceramic will need to be spread in and mixed at yard after separating.
Waste Tracking Form needs to be completed via Sandra or Bridgette.
Waste soil to be taken to Veolia for disposal as high level.
