UNIFORM POLICY
At Calvino Coffee, we are all about consistent delivery of quality product and outstanding service. We strongly believe that store and staff presentation contribute enormously to the image of our brand and success of our business.
For this reason, we provide our staff with a smart and comfortable Calvino Coffee uniform that should be clean and always well maintained. We have developed this Uniform Policy to ensure that requirements with respect to Calvino Coffee uniforms are clear for all managers and staff.
CALVINO UNIFORM
The Calvino Coffee Supplied Uniform consists of:
Calvino Coffee black jacket with red trims and embroidered logo
Calvino Coffee black apron with embroidered logo
Calvino Coffee name badge
The Calvino Uniform is supplied to all staff with a refundable deposit on staff member leaving Calvino Coffee Company.
The full supplied uniform and deposit is mandatory for all staff.
The Calvino Uniform is to be worn with staff member’s own:
Plain black top. Can be short, three quarter, or long sleeved.
Plain black trousers, skirt, or shorts
Plain black tights (when wearing a skirt)
Plain black collared dress.
Plain black closed toed shoes
All items must be true black, not faded or torn and cannot contain any logos.
PRESENTATION STANDARDS
Uniforms must always be well presented, clean and well maintained, including:
Clean, neat shirt and apron
Neat hair tied back if it is longer than shoulder length, suitable for working within a food service environment.
Name badge always displayed.
No outerwear other than the Calvino Coffee supplied jacket
ACCEPTABLE FOOTWEAR
Employees can wear any enclosed black shoe that they feel comfortable in.
Please keep in mind that you are on your feet the entire shift so high heeled shoes are not recommended.
PROHIBITED CLOTHING
Employees should not wear:
Ripped clothing of any sort
Low cut or excessively tight clothing
Thongs or open toed shoes
Bike shorts or sports style shorts
Leggings, including sports leggings
Skirts or shorts shorter than just above the knee
JEWELLERY
All jewellery must be conservatively styled:
Dress rings and wedding/engagement rings may be worn, no thumb rings.
A simple watch may be worn.
Earrings must be studs or sleepers, no dangly earrings
One simple necklace may be worn.
No bangles or armbands are permitted.
No visible anklets or bands around the ankle.
No facial piercings, except for one simple nose stud if worn for cultural reasons.
UNIFORM DEPOSIT
Every staff member will be charged a refundable uniform deposit of $60 on their first pay.
Staff members working over three shifts a week can opt to pay a further $10 deposit for a second apron.
The uniform deposit will be refunded in full upon employee departure pending the return of the employees’ entire uniform in an acceptable condition.
Employees will only be refunded for the items that are returned.
Uniform deposit is separated into $45
LOST OR DAMAGED UNIFORM
If a uniform is lost or damaged, the uniform deposit is forfeited.
A replacement uniform will be provided, and an additional uniform deposit will be deducted.
If the replacement uniform is returned undamaged upon employee departure the second uniform deposit will be refunded as normal.
WORN OUT UNIFORM
Uniforms that are displaying wear and tear that is reasonable to the intended use of the uniform will be replaced at the expense of Calvino Coffee.
Reasonable wear and tear are at the discretion of the store manager.
Thank you for your co-operation with these uniform standards. Adherence with the standards set out within this Uniform Policy is a requirement of employment at Calvino Coffee.
Continual failure to comply with the Uniform Policy may lead to termination of employment.
