How To Build A Scaffold Rolling Tower

Step 1 of 17Step 1, preparation.
Rolling towers should only be used on solid, level floor areas.

Step 2 of 17Before starting, check all the scaffold parts are in good working condition with no damage.

Step 3 of 17Step 2, bracing.
Attach diagonal bracing to the frame sections.

Step 4 of 17Pull up on the lock, slide in brace, and let go of the lock.

Step 5 of 17Step 3, casters, jacks, and base plates.
Insert casters and secure with the attaching pin.

Step 6 of 17Set brake on each of the four legs and then try to move it to make sure they are fully secure.

Step 7 of 17Step 4, catacorner squaring brace.
Install the catacorner squaring brace. This should be installed at the base and every 600cm of height.

Step 8 of 17Step 5, outriggers.
First, determine the tower height.
If the height exceeds three times the minimum base dimension, install outriggers.

Step 9 of 17Insert the caster into the outrigger and secure with pin.

Step 10 of 17Then attach the outrigger to the scaffold leg.

Step 11 of 17Step 6, walkboards.
Brace walkboards atop each frame section.

Step 12 of 17Then turn the lock on the walkboard to secure it.

Step 13 of 17Step 7, adding frame sections.
Hoist frames and braces to the next level.
Secure the frames together using inserts and fastening pins.14
Step 14 of 17Full decking should be installed before assembling the next tier, and then move up as each tier is completed.

Step 15 of 17Step 8, guardrails and final decking.
Install walkboards to fully deck the work area.

Step 16 of 17Be sure to always lock the walkboards.

Step 17 of 17Upon completion of the tower to the desired height, install and lock guard railings and toe boards on all four sides using inserts and fastening pins.
