<p>This is an in-service demo SPE Energy- ARiES12.</p><p>Important: Prior to proceeding with any interaction with live switchgear ensure; that you are fully up to date on the following regulation and guidance, that a full risk assessment has been carried out, that switching is carried out by approved personnel and the relevant PPE is worn. &lt;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://arcguard.co.uk/&gt;Relevant">https://arcguard.co.uk/&gt;</a></p><ul><li><p><strong>Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EaWR)</strong></p><ul><li><p>Core UK legislation governing electrical safety.</p></li><li><p>Requires that electrical systems are constructed, maintained, and operated in a way that prevents danger.</p></li><li><p>Special attention to Reg. 4(3): “work on or near live conductors shall not be carried out unless… it is unreasonable… for it to be dead and suitable precautions are taken.”</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HSWA)</strong></p><ul><li><p>General duty to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of employees and others affected by work.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ensures that switchgear and associated tools are suitable, maintained, and operated by trained personnel.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR)</strong></p><ul><li><p>Requires proper <strong>risk assessments</strong> and safe systems of work before any switching operation.</p></li></ul></li></ul><p></p>

So to begin, this is in service position and closing the service.

I will now open it. You can see now it's white.

So now to take it out of service you now move this dial here across so you can access this port here.

This is your tool for it.

You have this end for charging, this end for manipulating your locations.

Place it in like so and then follow this arrow here to open it.

You are now isolated from the bus bar.

To earth it now you will have to take it out of isolated.

So you now just check you are out and now you take it across so now you have access to the earthing point.

And now just close it into earth as the arrow shows.
