Efficient cupping is important to reduce fatigue and injury. It also reduces time in the shed which is a win for everyone.

Before cupping, check teat cleanliness and look for signs of mastitis.
The easiest method to learn is called around the circle cupping.
Typically you’ll pick the cluster up with your left hand ( right handed cupping ) and flip it over like this. Grab the front right cup to start with your right hand.
If you are right handed you cup the front right first. Followed by front left, back left and finally back right.

It’s really important you put the teat into the cup by feel. DON’T EVER lower your head like this to see visually as one kick is all it takes!
Guide the teat into the cup with your index finger. Learn to do it by feel alone. This is really important.

In a rotary always cup close to where the control panel is for safety ( close to the stop button ).
