Introduction
The Toyota Pedestrian Pallet Truck is a pedestrian-controlled electric pallet truck with walk-behind steering control.
Only trained and authorised staff are permitted to operate the pallet truck.
Safety Features
The pallet truck's safety features include a battery disconnect, an emergency stop button to cut power, an audible horn, and a keypad to prevent unauthorized use.
Operator Manual
Before operating, make sure you've familarised yourself with the Operator Manual which provides essential information for operating safely. In Hospitality, this is located in the first cash draw in the Cage.
Operating Safely
Always know the pallet truck's capacity, maintain clear pedestrian exclusion zones, and ensure adequate room to maneuver. Always travel on sealed surfaces, distribute loads evenly, and allow extra stopping distances when loaded. Use the horn to alert pedestrians of your presence and reduce speed in congested areas.
Pre-Start Safety Inspection
Before each shift, perform a visual inspection of the pallet truck and document in the Walker Stacker Pre-Start Checklist booklet. Start with a visual walk-around to check for any damage, fluid leaks, or loose components. Then test functionality of lifting/lowering mechanisms, horn, safety reversing switch, steering, and parking brake.
Battery Inspection
Pull the cover back and conduct a visual inspection to ensure there are no leaks and that all components are securely in place.
Important: Immediately report any mechanical or functional issues to Engineering. Never charge battery if damage is evident.
Battery Charging
Always charge the pallet truck in the dedicated area and ensure the battery cover is open during charging. Always switch off the charger before disconnecting.

Battery Water Levels
A GREEN indicator light indicates the battery does not require water. A RED indicator light indicates the battery needs to be filled.
Each battery cell contains a white float that indicates the water level. This serves as an additional visual indicator of when water may be needed.
Important: Always refill the battery with water after charging, never before.
