General Notes

  • Read through the fitting instructions before installation of the accessory. Install the accessory following the fitting instructions. Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle or the accessory.

  • Ensure all recyclable discarded vehicle accessory components and packaging are recycled following local recycling regulations.

  • It is always recommended that this accessory is fitted by a qualified Kia Technician.

  • Safely store and protect any removed vehicle components.

  • Ensure all bare metal surfaces are protected using automotive bare metal primer and touch-up paint, or suitable automotive rust inhibitor.

  • Remove all metal swarf and dust from all vehicle surfaces if surface is used for accessory installation.

Safety Notes

  • Check that all work practices comply with safety standards.

  • Please wear appropriate clothing and use safety equipment.

Step 1

IMPORTANT

Always refer to the vehicle’s Workshop Manual when removing vehicle components.

  • Place the Bracket -A- LH (3) over the chassis rail. Use three M10x30 Hex Bolts (9) and three M10 Flat Washers (10) to secure the Bracket -A- LH (3).

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

  • Repeat for RHS.

Tools Used

  • Wrench

  • 16mm Socket

  • 16mm Spanner

Step 2

  • Place the Bracket -B- LH (5) over the chassis rail. Use three M10x30 Hex Bolts (9) and three M10 Flat Washers (10) to secure the Bracket -B-LH (5).

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

  • Repeat for RHS.

Tools Used

  • Wrench

  • 16mm Socket

  • 16mm Spanner.

Step 3

  • Place the Bracket -C- LH (7) over the chassis rail. Use three M10x30 Hex Bolts (9) and three M10 Flat Washers (10) to secure the Bracket-C- LH (7).

  • Do not tighten the bolts.

  • Repeat for RHS.

Tools Used

  • Wrench

  • 16mm Socket

  • 16mm Spanner.

Step 4

IMPORTANT

Two people are required to complete this step.

  • Mount the Step LH (1) over Brackets – A, B & C. Use twelve M8x25 Hex Bolts (11), twenty four M8 Flat Washers (12) and twelve M8 Lock Nuts (13) to secure the Step LH (1).

  • Push the Step LH (1) towards the vehicle evenly at all three bracket locations.

  • Torque all M8x25 Hex Bolts (11) to 20Nm.

  • Torque all M10x30 Hex Bolts (9) to 50Nm.

  • Repeat for RHS.

Note: The Side Steps are marked RH and LH. Look for white label underneath the Side Step.

Tools Used

  • Wrench

  • 13mm & 16mm Socket

  • 13 & 16mm Spanner

  • Torque Wrench.

Step 5

  • Open the driver’s door.

  • Clean the driver’s side lower door jam area below the striker using 50/50 mix of Isopropyl alcohol (70%) & water and a clean cloth then allow to dry thoroughly.

  • Adhere the provided Warning Label (14) on the lower door jam area below the striker as shown.

  • Repeat for driver’s side rear door, passenger front and rear door.

(Please place the Fitting Instructions in the glove box after installation is completed)
