Step 1 of 6

Dig down around the pole at a depth between 150mm to 200mm

2
Step 2 of 6

Measure the girth of the pole at the widest point.

Measure the girth of the pole at the widest point.

3
Step 3 of 6

Roll out the FireMesh to the allocated measurement and add 50mm to account for effective overlap.

4
Step 4 of 6

Start installing the wrap from the highest intended wrap position. When wrapping the FireMesh around the pole, make sure it is fitted at least 150mm into the excavation and overlapped a minimum of 50mm.

5
Step 5 of 6

Secure the mesh to the pole with a tek screw so that there is purchase to further tension the mesh to the pole.

Mesh wrap sections are to be installed from the top position down. This makes sure any rising flame doesn’t enter between mesh sections.

6
Step 6 of 6

When fitting mesh to poles with cable guards and struts, make sure additional tek screws are fitted so that the mesh hugs the pole correctly.

Note: The mesh shown in this video was installed as a trial on a pole with cable guards and other obstructions. Correct installation requires the mesh to be buried 150 mm into the ground.
