A forklift will deliver the Paper Reels for both Flex Machines through the rapid roller door on the north wall between Flex 2 & Line 1.

The entrance used to deliver Paper Reels to Flex 1 has been plugged to provide a Red Zone Area for the entire Operational Area.
Before a forklift driver drops off any Paper Reels they must ensure that the area is clear of operators & the Air Skate has not been left in the area.

The Air Skate is used to collect blank Paper Reels from between Line 1 & Flex 2 area & deliver them to either Flex 1 or 2. The crane will be used to load them onto the machine as per the current process.

The Air Skate will also be used to delivery Printed Paper Reels back to the rapid roller door entrance for collection by a forklift that will remove the Paper Reel into the stores.
Two Operators are required at all times to move the Air Skate when transporting a Paper Reel. It is important that the Air Skate is only operated on the new floor coating at the back of the Flex Printers & in front of the rapid roller door.

The Air Skate is operated pneumatically by opening the main ball valve at the handle of the Air Skate. (white handle).

There is a secondary adjustment at the base, this knob is used to adjust the air pressure in the air bags depending on the weight of the Paper Reel, however this should not need to be adjusted.

The Air Skate is designed to pick up smaller & larger Paper Reels. This is done by opening & closing the wings on the tines.

Wings in or closed for smaller diameter Paper Reels. Wings Out or in the Open position for larger diameter Paper Reels.
