Centurion Canopy Handle Removal

How to remove a canopy handle from the door for repair or replacement

Cut the cable tie holding wire to central lock cover

Remove all the bolts holding the central locking cover (4mm allen key)

Remove the central locking cover to expose the handle assembly

Step 4 of 19

Unclip the rods and central locking wire from the handle assembly

Step 5 of 19

Drill out the two rivets holding the bottom edge of handle assembly and remove the two 10mm nuts either side of the handle assembly

Step 6 of 19

use a sharp flat blade/paint scraper or a craft knife to carefully cut the glue holding the handle assembly to the door. Take care not to leaver against the door skin when removing the handle assembly it will dent with excessive force

Clean of as much glue as possible to provide a clean surface for the new handle assembly to be reglued

Rear door activator location

apply surface activator to the door in highlighted area

NOTE: surface activator will make the powder coating appear cloudy, make sure none gets on any areas visible after assembly

Rear door handle

Apply surface activator and glue as shown

Side door activator location

apply surface activator to the door in highlighted area

NOTE: surface activator will make the powder coating appear cloudy, make sure none gets on any areas visible after assembly

Apply surface activator and glue as shown

Rear door handle

make sure handle is centered in the handle cutout before tightening the nuts

Step 13 of 19

Rear door handle

tighten all four of the rear door nuts

Do not over tighten the nuts they may snap the studs as they are aluminum

Side door handle

Fit handle back into place ensuring it is fully seated as indicated

Refit the rivets first then tighten the nuts

Do not over tighten the nuts they may snap the studs as they are aluminum

Connect the wire to central lock mechanism and cable tie as shown

Refer to step 13 for rear door wire location

Reconnect the rods to the handle

Step 18 of 19

If you have an LED light connect the wires. If no LED light cable tie the wires as shown

Step 19 of 19

Refit the central lock cover being careful not to pinch any wires,

Tighten all bolts holding central lock cover
