Emptying Spent Grain Tank

The spent grain tank will fill and need to be emptied into a trailer and taken away. This will normally be done by a contractor

Truck driver to drive onto to ABC loading bay and park with trailer underneath the spent grain chute

No Smoking within the brewery area

Step 2 of 4

Driver to go the brewery control room inside the brewery

Located just inside the door is a key box

Spent grain key has a caution label on it

Step 3 of 4

Go outside to spent grain panel which is located behind spent grain tank

Put key in and turn to the right 'ON'

flick toggle switch 'UP'

Press 'green discharge' button to send spent grain into truck

Driver to watch spent grain, press 'red stop' button when finished

Caution: Spent Grain will be hot

Step 4 of 4

On Completion

Press 'Red Discharge' button to stop discharging

Flick the toggle switch 'down' so chute is closed

Put Key in the 'off' position and remove

Place key back in the key box and notify brewers if the tank is empty

If there is spent grain on the ground within the unloading area notify brewers
