Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Gloves and Safety Glasses. If you don’t already have a pair of gloves or safety glasses, please see the store person.

Tools required: Crane, two red corners (you must be signed off by the maintenance coordinator before using the crane, if you are not signed off, ask someone who is to do it for you) sling and an angle grinder/knife.

Remove the remaining channel from machine. Change the mode from Automatic to Manual by pressing the automatic button, then press the Jog Forward button.

To cut the material, press the Manual Operations button, then press the Jog Down button until the Lower Limit light is On, then press Jog Up button until Upper Limit light is on, continue until there is no material left in the machine.

Place two red corners on the inside of the top (on both sides) of new coil and make sure the sling is centred and straight. (You must be signed off to use the crane)

Using crane, carefully lift the new coil onto the coil train and place down carefully, make sure to add the two front poles so your coil doesnt fall. Make sure to remove the two red corners and sling before the next step...

Turn the de-coiler pump to the right to turn On, make sure the red pump light turns On.

Retract the de-coiler by turning the Tension/Relax switch to Relax.

Using the Advance/Back switch, turn the switch to Advance to bring coil train towards the de-coiler.

Using the Rise/Down switch, lift the coil cart up.

Using Advance/Back switch again, place the coil over mandrel gently.

Expand the mandrel [to hold coil] by turning the Tension/Relax switch to Tension.

Using the Rise/Down switch, lower the coil train, take out the 2 back silver poles, then use the Advanced/Back switch to take the coil train away from de-coiler.

Remove tape and/or metal strap by using a grinder or knife.

Make sure the coil goes underneath the wheel, grey side facing up.

Feed the coil into the back of the machine, on top of the roller.

Using the hand held remote press the upright triangle to feed the coil through the rest of the machine.

Once coil is through, repeat step 4 to get rid of the start of the channel.

press the green Manual button to turn the console back to Automatic.

press START

Make sure to write in the comment section of your QA sheet that you have completed a coil change.
