Open file
Open Inventor and choose "open from vault" to access vault files

Navigate to the client folder you need and open the file

Optional
Search is super fast (even searching the entire clients folder is about 1 sec). If you find that it doesn't show you any files, check that there isn't a filter applied at the bottom (arrow II)

Open the drawing from vault

Always change state from drawings
To edit these parts they need to be in the right state. Select the part and drawing and "change state"

State options: Quick Change
- A transition to "work in progress" will uprev (to C, in this case). See comment.
- Quick change allows you to stay at the same rev - but make edits to the file.
- Obselete posts a red "obselete" tag on the pdf and indicates it shouldn't be used.

Checking out:
An edit will will "check out" the file to you automatically. I added a dimension, and it checked out. You can also right click and check out (red rectangle)
Checking out, means your user can edit the file.

Check in
Check the file back into the vault by right clicking, and clicking yes. This will prompt all other users to refresh and get the new file.
Advanced: if you are in an assembly, click the sqaure button. It will search for other files/drawing that need checking in.

State change: Released
right click and change back to released. This pushes a job for a new pdf/step/dxf to the job processor. This continues in the background and once this is done you can close the files.
#note: If this step is skipped. The production files won't update!
