Turn platform water off
Clean & disinfect PPE gloves and sleeves.
Assure udder is cleaned, sprayed(chlorhexidine) and dried with paper towel.

Strip cow and check for mastitis. Do not dry off cow if it has mastitis.
Disinfect hands between cows.
Milk cow and ensure all four quarters are milked out.
Tail trim the cow.
Correct tail trim, no hair left on the tip.
Teat spray after milking.
Clean and disinfect hands and forearms. Always re-clean/disinfect if hands touch contaminated surfaces.
Surgically clean the end of the teat to remove any contaminated skin, dirt or manure.

Start with the front teat. If right handed start on the front left teat, left handed start on the front right. Insert intro-mammary tube and infuse dry cow treatment/therapy. No more than 3mm as it can damage teat canal.

DO NOT let go of the teat once you start cleaning to finishing with apply treatment.
Disinfect teats with teat spray immediately after treatment.
Paint cow with red paint so she can be identified as been dried off.
Scan and record animals ID tag.
Please make sure cows go to a clean paddock and don’t lay down on a dirty surface.
