For Install go to step 11
For export go to step 2

When exporting a file from Inventor
- Go to Bill of Materials in assembly tab
X: make the structured and part bom active (right click, activate if not) Y: ensure the Subject/Authority/Cost Center/Company are filled out
Check out all files, and see next step if data is missing

Set source code for GSS in the “cost center” tab: M = Manufactured to Stock, P = Purchase to Stock, F = Manufactured to Job, J = Purchase to Job
Set Sort code for GSS in “authority” tab: Purchased // Manufactur
Set Product line in the “company” tab:“CM” is default

Exporting
Hit "refresh" in the preview tab. If it looks ok on all the lines, then press process
- Open the file in Bom compare through globalshop
update: No need to delete the gss - this has been fixed.
There are many options for the filter, go through the options and configure the view port so that it only compares the aspects that we want to go through (see next step for screenshot)

Configure the basic settings, and then look at advanced

Configure the advanced settings next.Make sure these are "used" and have the right box in white. Description, Issues Unit of Measure, Source, Product line, Sort code.
press ctrl and "scroll" on your mouse to zoom in on this photo
#New BOM This step shows importing a new bom and creating the parts
#Existing BOM This step shows importing an existing bom to compare the inventor bom (left) with what's in GSS (right)
In this case, we are removing the part KNO-001-P1012 that isn't required anymore, and creating the new part KNO-001-P1013.
#Choosing which data you want to keep The description has changed (orange) and we can ignore this change. Here I select the GSS option, on the right and it goes "grey" meaning that no changes are required.
#Updated to existing parts If you push an update to a part (like this video) it will only change the BOM details, not the inventory.
If you need to change the sort code or other data after creation, you will need to do that inside BOM control.
#Install Install he latest version of the GSS plugin from Vault as required. It's stored on the vault under maintenance, along with the mapping file.
Hit right click, and "get" on both
Run the installer
#Enable
When you run inventor it will say "security error" run the add-in manager and enable the add-in
Restart inventor, and navigate to the GSS tab
Then import the mapping file from step 1. You'll have to navigate to "C/Vault/Maintenance" to find this.
Your screen should then have all the mapping configuration shown in this window

Map the export location for the file by clicking on the "..." and following the folders shown in this photo.
If you don't have access to "\Mf-Globalshop" drive (shown as Y above) talk to IT and get assistance to map this for your PC
