Rubber backed sling for lifting steel and concrete poles
Rubber backed sling for lifting steel and concrete poles
1
Step 1 of 6
The rubber backed sling is designed to grip concrete and steel poles and columns more effectively than fibre slings
To best demonstrate the effectiveness of the sling, the column used in this Knowby is a painted steel PL column and the lift was done in wet conditions.
2
Step 2 of 6
Choke the sling above the point of balance as normal ensuring there are no twists
The sling should be choked via the black eyelet
3
Step 3 of 6Commence the lift in the normal fashion with a safety observer monitoring the lift and the surrounding area
4
Step 4 of 6Continue the lift until the pole can be secured in the PERU jaws.
5
Step 5 of 6Manoeuvre the pole to the desired location
6
Step 6 of 6
The sling can also be used in a double wrap around the pole, which is useful on smaller, narrower columns
