Opal Standard for Opening Container Doors with a Safety Strap

This procedure establishes a standard for the safe and compliant opening of container doors with the the application of a safety strap, ensuring adherence to legal, safety, and chain of responsibilty obligations.

This is achieved by applying a <strong>Door Safety Strap</strong> to both the left and right door lock rods to prevent incidents caused by load shifts resulting in freight leaning against the door.</p>

<p>Open doors slowly and check for any unsecured freight leaning on the doors. If no freight is identified as leaning against door, close doors and remove container door safety strap</p>
