When removing canopy doors it is important to do it in a sequence so you don’t cause rework. 

  1. Remove passenger door
  2. Remove rear door 
  3. Remove driver door 
  4. Install driver door 
  5. Install rear door 
  6. Install passenger door

Open up the passenger door and unplug the CLK.

Have someone hold the passenger door while you disconnect the gas struts from the door.

Repeat on other end of the door.

Lift the door as high as possible. This will make it easier for the hinge stoppers to be removed.

Remove the hinge stoppers on both ends.

Tap the door towards the rear then slide it off.

Remove the gas struts from the body.

Click on the new gas struts on to the body.

DO NOT put the new MK4 passenger door on yet.

Moving to the rear door. Unplug the rear camera if needed.

Unplug the rear door CLK.

Remove the hinge stoppers on both ends.

Remove the gas struts.

Slide the rear door towards the passenger side.

To make it easier to put the stoppers on the drivers door you can put one on to the door while it isn't attached to the canopy.

Ensuring it is on the side of the door that is closest to the rear.

Slide the New MK4 drivers door on.

Attach the gas struts

Put the other hinge stopper on the end.

Plug in the door CLK to the body CLK.

Slide on the rear using the same method as the side door by placing on one hinge stopper on the end not sliding in first.

Attach the other hinge stopper.

Attach the gas struts

Plug the door CLK into the body CLK.

Repeat steps on the passenger door.

<p>Once complete, check all doors latch well and CLK/Lights work.</p>
