How to remove the pool cover
This is how to take the pool cover off and put it back on again.
This is how to take the pool cover off and put it back on again.
1
Step 1 of 20

So the first step is to get the winder which is kept over the back wall.

2
Step 2 of 20

It's on the little hook here.

3
Step 3 of 20

It goes into this little hole in the deck.

There's a little lug it clicks into.

4
Step 4 of 20

And then you start winding anti-clockwise. Super important!

5
Step 5 of 20

Then just wind, wind, wind, wind, wind.

6
Step 6 of 20

Now this is the super important bit!

Stop winding just as the bar comes towards the end slot.

7
Step 7 of 20

Lean into the pool and lift the bar up towards the ledge. Water drains out at the end. Sometimes there's leaves and rubbish that fall off too.

8
Step 8 of 20

And then you just rest the bar on the ledge, but not all the way in. So it just sits on the ledge and doesn’t fall down below the deck.

9
Step 9 of 20

And you'll see in the middle there, a little strap. You'll need that for putting the cover back on again.

10
Step 10 of 20

Tuck the strap in. You don't want to push this too far in otherwise it disappears and you can't get it back.

11
Step 11 of 20

If there's lots of bugs and leaves in the pool, there's a net on a hook on the back wall.

12
Step 12 of 20

Give it a clean over the back wall.

13
Step 13 of 20

There is an inside out for the net. Scoop with the smooth leading edge, not the underside of the net.

14
Step 14 of 20

The pool itself is self-cleaning. There's nothing else to do!

15
Step 15 of 20

Those white buttons pop up and spray water when the pool is cleaning itself.

16
Step 16 of 20

There's also a spa cover which you can just unhitch, roll up and put under one of the benches over there.

17
Step 17 of 20

To put the cover back on again, you can either just reach in if you're standing in the pool and give it a yank out by hand. Or, there's actually the proper way to do it. Go to the sink here. And underneath this sink is a rope.

18
Step 18 of 20

I'll just use this one here. You just hook this into that bit of black cord that was hanging from the cover.

19
Step 19 of 20

And just pull it back out again. Pull it in a straight line and then it just sits on the water.

20
Step 20 of 20

And that is how to take the pool cover off and put it back on again!
