1
Step 1 of 9

Start by measuring and marking the locations for the posts. Determine the placement by adding 10% of the overall length of the shade sail. For example, if the shade sail is 3 meters, measure an additional 300 millimeters.

2
Step 2 of 9

Based on the shade sail and post sizes, dig holes that are 400 millimeters square and 800 millimeters deep.

3
Step 3 of 9

After digging the holes, add 100 millimeters of road base as the foundation for the footings.

4
Step 4 of 9

Place the posts into the holes, angling them at 5 degrees for stability.

5
Step 5 of 9

Mix concrete with water in a wheelbarrow, then pour it into the holes containing the posts.

6
Step 6 of 9

Once the concrete sets, measure an equal distance from the top of each post, mark the center, and pre-drill through all marked points.

7
Step 7 of 9

Attach anchor fittings through the holes of one post, then tighten using a spanner.

8
Step 8 of 9

With the eyelets in place, attach the turnbuckle onto the eyelet. Hook the shade sail onto the turnbuckle and tighten.

9
Step 9 of 9

The final result is a properly installed shade sail, providing protection against the natural elements.
