Hazards/ Risks

• Chemical leaking from tin could cause fire spread or chemical to come into contact with user

• Contaminating spoon utensils/ consuming residual chemical

• Burns from heat and fire of Oz gel unit and fondue kit

• Inhalation of harmful chemical fumes

Inspection of Oz gel unit

• Visually inspect container is intact and not damaged

• Use the handle of a spoon to open lid

• Place dirty spoon in cutlery bin

Light Oz gel

• Use in well ventilated area (Restaurant/ Lounge bar is sufficient)

• Carefully light Oz gel tin with lighter and place fondue kit on top

• When removing fondue kit, place lid to extinguish flame using cloth napkin so there is no risk of burn

• Allow to cool prior to handling

Note: Even once extinguished, tin will remain hot for 10-15 mins

Disposal of Oz gel container

• Place container on kitchen pass with cloth napkin

• Use cloth napkin to dispose of fondue kit in provided container at the pass

Note: when disposing of Oz gel container, wear dishwashing gloves to triple rinse tin prior to disposal.

Dispose of rinsed tin in mixed recycling.
