How to identify if my canopy is affected by the handle shaft issue

<p>We have identified that canopies manufactured between 24th March 2026 and 16th of April 2026, some canopies were assembled with an un-coated, Mild Steel handle shaft.</p><p>The 3 types of handle shaft can be identified as below:</p><p></p><p>1) Mild steel non-plated shafts will rust and should be replaced (Dull Grey, Likely show signs of rust).</p><p>2) Stainless Steel, Not at risk of rusting. (Light Grey, Matt Finish)</p><p>3) Zinc Coated shafts (Gold in colour) will not rust due to the coating.</p>

To check if your canopy is affected, open the door and look up inside the handle assembly, if the hex handle shaft is gold in colour, this is fine. If the hex handle shaft is a dull grey, please contact Utemaster to arrange for this to be replaced.

Note: You can use the light on your phone to see inside the handle assembly.

If the shaft has started to rust, this will be showing as isolated yellow spots on a grey shaft.
