Opal Group LUEZ - Loading, Unloading Exclusion Zone:
Truck and Trailer area MUST be a total pedestrian exclusion zone while Forklift is in operation.

Responsibilities:
- MHE Operators: Follow this SOP to ensure safe unloading operations.
- Supervisors: Ensure operators are trained and compliant with the procedure.
- MHE Maintenance: Ensure regular scheduled maintenance of forklifts and grab attachments, including daily pre-operational checks by MHE Operators.

Equipment Required:
- Load-rated forklift with compliant grab attachment.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): High-visibility clothing, safety boots, and any other site-specific PPE as required.

Step 4 of 4Unloading Procedure:
- Implement LUEZ (Loading/Unloading Exclusion Zone): Set up the exclusion zone to prevent pedestrian access during unloading.
- Position the Forklift: Align the forklift parallel to the trailer to ensure stability during operation.
- Clamp the Paper Reel: Approach the reel carefully and apply a full clamp grasp with adequate pressure before any movement.
- Drag the Reel to the Edge: Without lifting, gently drag the reel towards the edge of the trailer deck.If tilt is required, ensure no lifting is done while in tilt.
- Final Clamp and Unload: Place the reel on the deck near the trailer edge, adjust the clamp if needed to ensure full grip and pressure, then safely lift the reel after confirming adequate clamp force.
