General Notes

  • Read through the fitting instructions before installation of the accessory. Install the accessory following the fitting instructions. Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle or the accessory.

  • Ensure all recyclable discarded vehicle accessory components and packaging are recycled following local recycling regulations.

  • It is always recommended that this accessory is fitted by a qualified Kia Technician.

  • Safely store and protect any removed vehicle components.

  • Ensure all bare metal surfaces are protected using automotive bare metal primer and touch-up paint, or suitable automotive rust inhibitor.

  • Remove all metal swarf and dust from all vehicle surfaces if surface is used for accessory installation.

  • Check that all work practices comply with safety standards.

  • Please wear appropriate clothing and use safety equipment.

Step 1

  • Open the bonnet and thoroughly clean and dry the front fascia and surrounding areas.

Tools Used

  • Clean, dry, cloth

Step 2

  • Trial fit the Nose Cone Protector centrally onto the front fascia (1).

  • Note the areas of the fascia that correspond to the four top slots and two bottom holes in the Nose Cone Protector (2).

  • Note the areas of the fascia that corresponds to the twelve bumpons attached to the Nose Cone Protector (3).

  • Mark these positions on the fascia with a non-permanent felt pen or pencil.

  • Remove the Nose Cone Protector.

Step 3

  • Clean the previously marked four top slot locations with the Alcohol Wipe provided and allow to dry.

  • Adhere a Medium Abrasion Resistant Tape to the front fascia at each of the four top slot locations as shown.

Step 4

  • Clean the previously marked two bottom hole locations with the Alcohol Wipe provided and allow to dry.

  • Adhere the Large Abrasion Resistant Tapes to the fascia at each of the two bottom hole locations by starting from the bottom under the grille as shown.

IMPORTANT

Apply the Large Abrasion Resistant Tape according to the trim level as shown.

Step 5

  • Clean the previously noted twelve bumpon locations with the Alcohol Wipe provided and allow to dry.

  • At the previously noted twelve bumpon locations, adhere the Small Abrasion Resistant Tapes to the front of the fascia.

Step 6

  • Fit the Nut Inserts into the square slots of the Top Fixed Clips.

  • At the four top slot locations, pull the rubber seal and scrivet up.

  • Slide the Top Fixed Clips onto the fascia lip over the Medium Abrasion Resistant Tapes and align the hole in the clip with the hole in top of the fascia.

  • Push the scrivets in the rubber seal through the Top Fixed Clips and back into the top of the fascia.

IMPORTANT

Install Nut Inserts by hand. Do not use tools.

  • Ensure that the Metal Clips are positioned over the Abrasion Resistant Tape and do not come into contact with the front fascia.

Step 7

  • Fit the Nut Inserts into the square slots of the Bottom Clips.

  • Hook the correct Bottom Clips onto the grille and over the Large Abrasion Resistant Tapes.

IMPORTANT

Use the corresponding Bottom Clips for the X-Pro and Standard trim levels.

  • Install Nut Inserts by hand. Do not use tools.

  • Ensure that the Metal Clips are positioned over the Abrasion Resistant Tape and do not come into contact with the front fascia.

Step 8

  • Re-fit the Nose Cone Protector centrally on the front fascia (1).

  • Loosely secure the Nose Cone Protector to the four Top Clips and two Bottom Clips with the Screws and Washers provided (2).

  • Ensure the Nose Cone Protector is centred and then fully tighten the bottom Screws (3).

IMPORTANT

  • Do not over-tighten screws.

Step 9

  • While applying firm upward pressure to the Nose Cone Protector, fasten the top Screws.

Do not over-tighten screws.

  • Ensure the top Screws are as close to the bottom of the top slots as possible.

Please place the installation Instructions in the glove box after installation is completed.
