General Notes

  • Read through the fitting instructions before installation of the accessory. Install the accessory following the fitting instructions. Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle or the accessory.

  • Ensure all recyclable discarded vehicle accessory components and packaging are recycled following local recycling regulations.

  • It is always recommended that this accessory is fitted by a qualified Kia Technician.

  • Safely store and protect any removed vehicle components.

  • Remove all metal swarf and dust from all vehicle surfaces if surface is used for accessory installation.

  • Check that all work practices comply with safety standards.

  • Please wear appropriate clothing and use safety equipment.

Preparation

Lay out all contents of box

Please Note

Left-Hand Side Side Step = Blue Wrapping

Right-Hand Side Side Step = Clear Wrapping

Materials

  • Bracket -A- LH

  • 3 M10x30 Hex Bolts

  • 3 M10 Flat Washers

Process

Place the Bracket -A- LH over the chassis rail. Use three M10x30 Hex Bolts and three M10 Flat Washers to secure the bracket.

Repeat on right-hand side.

Note

Do not tighten the bolts

Tools used

  • Wrench

  • 16mm Socket

  • 16mm Spanner

Materials

  • Bracket -B- LH

  • 3 M10x30 Hex Bolts

  • 3 M10 Flat Washers

Process

Place the Bracket -B- LH over the chassis rail. Use three M10x30 Hex Bolts and three M10 Flat Washers to secure the bracket.

Repeat on right-hand side.

Note

Do not tighten the bolts

  • 16mm Socket

  • 16mm Spanner

Materials

  • Bracket -C- LH

  • 3 M10x30 Hex Bolts

  • 3 M10 Flat Washers

Process

Place the Bracket -C- LH (3) over the chassis rail. Use three M10x30 Hex Bolts and three M10 Flat Washers to secure the bracket.

Repeat on right-hand side.

Note

Do not tighten the bolts

  • 16mm Socket

  • 16mm Spanner

Materials

  • Step LH

  • 12 M8x25 Hex Bolts

  • 24 M8 Flat Washers

  • 12 M8 Lock Nuts

Process

Mount the Step LH over Brackets - A, B & C .Use twelve M8x25 Hex Bolts, twenty four M8 Flat Washers and twelve M8 Lock Nuts to secure the Step LH.

Push the Step LH towards the vehicle at all three bracket locations.

Repeat on right-hand side.

Note

The Side Steps are marked RH and LH. Look for a white label underneath the Side Step.

Two people are required to do this step.

Tools Used

  • Torque Wrench

  • 13mm & 16mm Socket

  • 13mm & 16mm Spanner

Process

Torque all M8x25 Hex Bolts to 20Nm.

Torque all M10x30 Hex Bolts to 50Nm.

Repeat for Right-hand side.

Tools Used

  • Torque Wrench

  • 13mm Socket

  • 16mm Socket

Materials

  • 50/50 Mix Isopropyl alcohol (70%) & Water

  • Cloth

  • Warning Label

Process

Open the Drivers Door

Clean the driver's side lower door jam area below the striker using 50/50 mix of Isopropyl alcohol (70%) & water and a clean cloth then allow to dry thoroughly

Adhere the provided Warning Label on the lower door jam area below the striker as shown

Repeat for driver's side rear door, passenger front and rear door.

Note

Please place Fitting Instructions in the glove box after installation is completed.
