A typical Waiter's Corkscrew has:
- A 2-Step Lever
- A Foil Cutter
- A spiral cork screw
Using the Foil Cutter, slice the foil around the stem of the bottle
Starting from the previous cut, slice up over the bottle. Remove and discard the foil from the top.
Position the Corkscrew in the centre of the cork and begin turning it into the cork.
Rotate the Corkscrew about six half turns, ensuring that there is one full spiral left above the cork; this is both to provide leverage and to prevent the Corkscrew from piercing the bottom of the cork.
Position the upper-most lever against the top of the bottle, and begin levering the cork out as far as you can. Switch to the bottom-most lever and continue to lever the cork out further.
Gently ease the rest of the cork out with your hand.
Enjoy your wine!
