Rhinogard - Mix and Administer Intranasal Vaccine to Calves

How to reconstitute freeze-dried Rhinogard with saline, set up the bag, draw-off tube and dosing gun, and administer the intranasal vaccine to calves from around 7 days of age. Covers cold storage, one-day shelf life once mixed, and the export protocol warning.

Draw out 20 ml saline from bag like this.

Step 3 of 13

Inject the saline into the freeze dried Rhinogard.

Shake well.

draw out the mixture.

Inject back into the saline bag.

Mix the bag.

Unscrew draw off cap like this.

Using pliers snip the wings off the exit attachment. This makes attaching the draw off tube much easier.

Now push the draw off tube into the bag like this.

While gently squeezing the bag use the gun to remove air from the tube.

Put a string on the bag to hang it around your neck.

Insert the gun up one nostril past the cartilage ( the black band needs to not be visible for you to be in far enough ). Squeeze the trigger ( pre set ) to put the vaccine up the nostril.

⚠️ When finished, store the bag and gun in a fridge.
