How to install chassis mounts & your Trek-R tray on your Hilux

Using zinc M12x35 hex head fine thread bolts, a spring and flat washer and loctite, fasten the front mount to the chassis. 


Fasten the center and rear mounts to the chassis using zinc M12x35 hex heads bolts, a flat washer on the top, square washer on the bottom and a nyloc.

Your chassis mount set up should be looking as shown.


Lower your tray down onto the mounts. 


Place runner stiffeners in behind the tray where the chassis mounts sit. 


Fasten the center and rear mounts to the tray through the runner stiffeners using zinc M12x35 hex head bolts and nylocs.

For the front mounts, place chassis mount washers on the outside of the chassis mount. 


Fasten to the tray using zinc M12x35 hex heads and nylocs.

Feed the central locking and redarc looms through the headboard column.

Ensure that the headboard sits 40mm from the cab. If your headboard has a watertank, ensure that gap between the cab and watertank is also 40mm. 


Make sure that your chassis mounts sit even on the chassis and the tray is centered in relation to the cab. 


It is also important to make sure that the chassis mounts are square to the tray.

If you have a service body tray, ensure the tray sits 130mm from cab. This measurement is taken from beneath the cab window and the front horizontal cross runner on the tray.

Fasten all the chassis mount and tray bolts.


Fasten each of the bolts with a torque wrench to 100 newton meters.

Step 8 of 8

To fasten your central locking plug, screw x2 stainless self tapping screws through the headboard and plug. 


Don't forget to insert the green wedge into the plug.
