2
Step 2 of 19

To check the engine oil, open the back cover by pulling the lever behind the seat to the side and lifting the cover.

3
Step 3 of 19

Remove the dip stick and, with a clean rag, wipe off any oil.

4
Step 4 of 19

Insert back into the oil, remove, and check that the oil level is at the top knotch.

5
Step 5 of 19

Wipe off again, with a clean rag, and return dip stick to the oil. Close the back cover.

If the oil level happens to be below the top knotch, see Trent/Nick/John - they can advise on which oil to top up with.

6
Step 6 of 19

Next, check that all four tyres are not flat.

7
Step 7 of 19

Check for fuel and fill up if required with unleaded petrol.

8
Step 8 of 19

To check the transmission oil, lift the seat forward.

9
Step 9 of 19

Follow the process for checking the engine oil:

Remove the dip stick. Clean with a rag. Insert the dip stick. Remove the dick stick. Check that the oil level is at the top knotch. Wipe clean and reinsert. Put the seat back down.

If the oil level happens to be below the top knotch, see Trent/Nick/John - they can advise on which oil to top up with.

10
Step 10 of 19

Check the height of the deck.

There is a white indicator - please line this up across the black dial and the mower. This should be approximately 2 ¾ when mowing the house compounds.

11
Step 11 of 19

When mowing, check that the deck is in the unlocked position.

12
Step 12 of 19

If it is in the lock position:

When the mower is started, use your right foot to push down on the right (lift) pedal and then lower the lever to the unlocked position. Then you can release your right foot from the pedal.

13
Step 13 of 19

To start the mower, firstly, move the accelerator to half throttle.

14
Step 14 of 19

Ensure that the PTO lever is in the disengaged position (to the back).

15
Step 15 of 19

Move both arms out.

16
Step 16 of 19

Make sure the park brake is on by pressing down the right central foot pedal (with your right foot) followed by also pressing down the left central (smaller) foot pedal (with your left foot).

17
Step 17 of 19

You are then right to start.

If the engine is cold, lift up the choke knob (no need to do this if the engine is hot).

Turn the key until it fires.

Then push the choke knob back down.

18
Step 18 of 19

After 10 seconds of running, you are able to push forward/turn up the accelerator, take the park brake off (by pushing down on and releasing the right central foot pedal), bring the arms in and drive forward to start mowing.

19
Step 19 of 19

To stop and dismount the mower:

  1. Return accelerator to a low idle and wait 20 seconds.

  2. Turn the key to the off position.

  3. Move the arms to the outwards position.

  4. Engage the park brake.

  5. Ensure the PTO lever is in the off (backwards) position.

  6. Then you can step off.
